FAQ'S

minus plus
Can I test ride a bike? minus plus

We are a direct-to-consumer company both in pricing and strategy. You will generally pay a premium for the ability to test ride through a dealer. However, our bikes have been thoroughly tested by top reviewers such as Electric Bike Review, Electric Bike Report, Cycling Weekly, Clean Technica, Electrek and many others who have published their reviews on YouTube. Additionally, we are now supporting an independent network of owners offering their bikes for demos. Learn more here Locations

What can I expect ordering a bike from Ride1Up? minus plus

This article will explain all about what to expect when ordering a bike from us. Ordering With Us

Can I upgrade the battery on the e-bike? minus plus

Unfortunately the 12.8ah battery pack is the largest available that will fit this bicycle frame.

Can I switch the handlebars to another model? minus plus

No, you cannot switch the handlebars on our electric touring style bike. The variations you see on the site are the only options available.

Can you ship to _______? minus plus

We only ship our electric bikes within North America. The Continental United States is FREE. Hawaii and Alaska are $400. Shipping to Canada is $100. We are not responsible for any additional tariffs charged by your local government which often-times are applied after importing. Unfortunately, we are not able to ship our bikes directly to Europe. You can use a shipping forwarder like ShopUsa.com to reach your country.

Are the bikes water-proof? minus plus

The bikes are not water-proof, they are water-resistant, rated IP-65. While we do not recommend leaving the bikes out in the rain or riding in the rain or other hazardous conditions due to personal safety, the bikes can handle water exposure.

What Is the Best Electric Bike for Long-Distance Touring? minus plus

The newly launched Turris is in the running as a top-rated adventure touring-style e-bike. It has an advanced, high-spec design engineered for comfort touring, with a powerful array of components and a robust Class 3 motor that can carry up to 300 lbs and make it easier to travel up steep gradients on the road or into strong headwinds.

E-bikes created especially for touring are a great choice, with Zoom 180 mm disc brakes for stopping power at speed. Still, the hybrid functionality makes this model adaptable enough for touring, recreational cruising, and commuting.

What should you look for in a long-distance electric touring bike? We recommend an e-bike with an ergonomic gel saddle for comfort, excellent suspension for bumpy routes, and a smooth, high-performance pedal assist function.

The best electric touring bike needs sufficient gearing to traverse steep climbs and maintain decent speeds on flatter routes. The Turris comes as standard with a 46T Prowheel Alloy Chainring and Shimano seven-speed shifters alongside a sensitive cadence sensor, which boosts pedal assist when necessary by switching between assist levels.

What Is the Difference Between a Touring Bike and a Hybrid Bike? minus plus

Touring bikes are workhorses designed to cover greater distances and carry all your kit with you. While a touring bike is ideal for longer rides and cycling excursions, an electric hybrid takes it a step further. The frames on a electric bikes tend to be sturdier and more rugged to increase the weight capacity, and these bikes are faster because they are built for open-road rides with the most powerful hill-climbing gears.

A standard hybrid refers to mixed-use MTB and touring bikes, with a trade-off in aspects such as tire thickness, weight, load-bearing capacity, and comfort. Hybrids often have different tires than bikes designed for touring since they are partly intended for off-road terrain.

Adventure touring e-bikes like the Turris provide a comprehensive solution, with the ergonomics, intelligent design, and durable components that mean one bike ticks every box. The Turris is built for adventure, with a more vertical upright seated position to avoid stress and fatigue in your shoulders and back after a long day in the saddle, and features Kenda K1227 touring tires with a wider diameter that can handle rougher terrain, smoother roadways, and cycle paths.

What Are the Advantages of a Touring E-Bike? minus plus

One of the reasons a touring e-bike is so popular is that riders can travel faster and further, completing tours and tougher rides quicker and making longer courses more accessible if you’re limited on time or wish to reduce fatigue or incorporate longer, more demanding excursions into your adventures.

As an indication, a rider who covers a lot of distance per day on their touring bike could add twenty miles per day with a touring e-bike. Hydraulic lockout suspension forks absorb every lump and bump, ensuring you have the ease of an e-bike with the design specificity of a touring model, as well as the ability to ride safely and smoothly on the roads–a win-win for every rider!

Excellent value and a really fun ride. The features on this bike cost 30-50% more from any other company.

Great bikes and great value. Just took them for an RV trip to Table Rock State Park for hiking. Park has serious inclines and declines on the roads within it and the bikes performed great. Handled every incline with minimal effort and the brakes worked great on the steep declines. Only slight negative so far is on my wifes Step Through the design has her immediately hitting the downward support bar on dismount because the seat is so close to it. Definitely could not utilize the bottle holders there. FYI those who may complain about the difficulty of assembly should not be trying to build anything. It was very straightforward and easy.

First off, this is a great bike at any price, but the price just can’t be ignored in any review for this e-bike, hydraulic brakes, 7 speeds with name brand and industry recognized components, great range…are you kidding me? Stop reading and order one. Get out and see the scenery. You’ll love it.

Great bike, not one issue since I've had it, try to ride at least 5 miles a day in the neighborhood. Also purchased a bike rake for the car that has a ramp that makes it to load with the battery installed when taking it to the state park bike trails.

I'm extremely satisfied with my Turris. I had not ridden a bicycle in close to a decade before buying it - in the month since, I've ridden just over 500 miles! While I thought I might enjoy commuting occasionally on the bike, it has taken the place of my car as the vehicle of choice for my daily commute. It has also gotten me out on the local trails - though I've lived in this city for almost twenty years, it is allowing me to explore and discover places I had never been before. I quickly found the end of the trail, in fact! I would recommend the Turris, Ride1Up, and ebiking in general to anyone interested.

Love my new Turris. It looks Bad ass. (Left the front fender off and got a rack for the back). Assembly was pretty straight forward except for the front caliper spacer. It is thicker on one end than the other. I would have liked to see that more clear. It is a really comfy bike with the front shock and a 40 lb rear tire. Seat is the best I have ever had on 6 bikes. Battery life is great, so far. I am learning to watch the watts power to stretch it. My trips are fairly short and I have about 40 miles on a full charge showing 4 bars remaining. It is so fast that wind noise in my ears is now a factor. Neck gator up over my ears helps that. For what ever reason it is very nimble directionally. More than my canondale mountain bike. Surprise. It lives in my living room for a dual purpose of art. It is important to me to love looking at things I use for transportation and seeing them as very cool. My Turris does that. The guilt of using an e bike is subsiding since I can use a lower assist level and get my heart going and still actually get some place. Head winds are less a factor. New thought. I saw your post of confrontations of e bikers and karens. Not a fan. Bikers of all kinds can tend to be confrontational. I would like to see you promoting the view that we are not pushing our presence. Being good ambassadors for bikes is a better choice in my opinion. We are not always as visible as we might think and we sometimes are invisible. Wave and say thanks when a driver gives us some space. No reason to expand or create a divide between the vehicles. Cars are still bigger and you don't know if the driver has had his coffee yet or too much coffee and carries. I will work to take my own advice. Thanks for a great bike and a quality feel for a good value price. All the best neal sw Florida

Got 30 miles on bike. It’s been fun learning it’s dynamics. There were/are two issues. The back brake doesn’t grab enough to have an effect. Looked on YouTube, I’ll try to loosen mount, see if that doesn’t fix, before I touch screw adjustment. Second, there is a disconnected wire. I didn’t see it upon unboxing. It’s right behind the display. The only place for a wire to enter the display has a wire in it. Everything on display works as it should, however…. My battery status still shows 5 bars. I rode the bike approximately 5 miles then charged it for 3 hours. That was 24 miles ago. Still 5 bars. I was thinking maybe the wire reported battery status? I really enjoy the bike. I am careful with my equipment, so I don’t think I pulled the wire out, but I’m not perfect. The box it came in was beat to hell, but I didn’t see any issues when I removed it. Any ideas? I like your product.

When compared to Trek or Aventon this is better choices since your getting the same premium options as those for a much lower price. I'm 225 6 ft so it is good for tall riders and have put on nearly 130 miles, so far very happy with purchase. This bike is for you If you're looking for a affordable priced e-bike for commuting, exploring bike paths, or just fun, and prefer an upright comfort position, the Turris is excellent. With a relaxed disposition, confidence-inspiring tires, and plenty of range, the Turris can get you out exploring beyond the range of a regular bike . Given its price, comfort, and capabilities, this is a great value.

Building the bike was easy; the accessories, rear rack and basket took more effort than it should have. First ride; bayou, head winds, multiple PAS levels, speeds, gearing. 20 miles about 1/3 battery capacity. I'm impressed, additionally have a 700XR and a few other e-bikes. I'm looking forward to putting the miles behind me on my new Turris.

Ride1Up continues to define what we can expect on an affordable electric bike. The Turris is priced as an entry level ebike but still has hydraulic disc brakes and a motor capable of 28 mph. The included fenders and front light are nice additions. Plus it looks like a more expensive ebike than it is. Read our full review: https://ebikeescape.com/ride1up-turris-review/

Excellent, fun bike. I use it for just cruising around and getting some exercise. Fantastic value for the money. Love the pedal assist modes as well as having a throttle when you want it. This is my first eBike and so glad I chose this model. Wish it had some cage mounts on the down tube so you could use a bigger water bottle, but that’s a minor complaint. Took off one * as I had to get one of the brakes bled, as well as the spokes tightened on the rear wheel after just a couple of weeks. Was able to easily get the service done under warranty however (took it to a local bike shop, and Ride1Up reimbursed me; the communication and warranty service was excellent).

Glad to hear you’re enjoying the bike and sorry you experienced this infrequent issue. Out of box adjustments are needed in a small percentage of deliveries and a reason why we have our 30 labor warranty policy. Happy we were able to resolve this report and get you riding on your ebike!

I love this bike and I love the price! It’s definitely high quality and I’m very satisfied with it. My only complaint was in the assembly instructions, which as a non-bike mechanic, were blurry and unintuitive. I think they would be more effective if they were in the style of a piece of furniture, step-by-step.
