It extends pretty far out the back and changes the balance of the ride when filled. A pannier mount on the seat would be much more practical and serve the purposes of travel storage, aesthetics, and balance much better. The space of the rear rack would also better serve an extra seat for a passenger since the seat is too short to comfortably seat two people unless they’re pressed pretty far forward and the driver has their knees above their waist.
